I love to create whimsical things from found objects. Share my "sunny days" (yea right..foggy Humboldt County..vbg) as I create from that old watering can in the barn or that cracked pot in the falling down old shed..yard sales, Dollar stores..estate sales all take on a different aspect when viewed from the eye of "A Garden Bling Designer!"

Crooked crazy pots!
I used a flag stand I found at Michaels and arranged the pots throught the stands..but first I spray painted the pots with a can of bronze paint I bought at the hardware store; You need to weight the pots down with gravel to gets the pots to remain in place..Can't wait until the lobelia and petunia bloom!!

Hi Kathy-
ReplyDeleteDid you drill holes in order to get the flag stand through the pots?
Dawn
Hi Dawn! Actually I went through my potting shed and pulled out a bunch or ceramic pots, some of the holes were too small so I just kept trying pots.. I think my next one (as this is a first),,I will put a larger one on the bottom for stability. and then do a gradual size up.check out yard sales or garden shope you will get better deals at the yard sale..the sky is the limit! let me know how you do?!
ReplyDeleteok everyone,,new idea! I am going to do a weekly "Start to Finish" (how to photos etxcera) of some of my more popular garden bling..my margarita birdbath comes to mind,,and then I have my Garden wall and then I have my.....oh my I will never get to do any project unless I get off this dang computer!(VBG)Any suggestions Please post!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great blog!
ReplyDeleteThis one's my favorite (well, aside from the puppy in the wheelbarrow, but that goes without saying). Is the flag stand secured to the stone base? I'd need to do something like that for it to ride out our midwestern thunderstorms.
nope not secured but if you go with a larger pot on the bottom and more rock that should hold..another method is to take a piece of rebar and do this in a garden bed or drill a holl in your deck(yea right) or what would work would be to do this in a corner of your deck and take wire and secure to a post on the rail..all sorts of ways,,mine is just set on a stone that I bought for a step at the hardware store!
